AUTISM EXPERIENCES….….

How autism has changed my life by Brendan Young, aged 16′(life before being diagnosed was no different to me that it was after.Autism totally ruined my teenage life, thanks to council/government and/or social services’s regulations and rules that i or my friends/mates can’t go off and socialised by ourselves without and adult until i’m at least 16,meaning i have to put up with hours and hours of having to and wait for my parents leaving me indoors,in front of the tv when i could and want be playing football, arcade games and others activities like all others teenagers do.

Life before being diagnosed’and What’ so different about me?’by Martin Hal-Fed.aged 14(Life before I was diag nosed was, apparently,an extremely confusing time for thse around me,especially my close family. My mum had only occasionally notice that my behaviour stuck out like a sore thumb.Often this behaviour was patchy, fleeting, and was only really noticeable when closely compared to other children’s behaviour. All this conspired to prevent me from being diagnosed for years. When I was finallydiagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome,it was a gust of wind, lifting once and for all the veil of confusion that had hung over me for several years….I think that Asperger’s Syndrome doesn’t make me feel that different from other people.Overall it makes very little impact on my perception of life.Asperger’s Syndrome isn’n for me a major issues in my life because I believe that people around me do not often see my behaviour asa different to theirs and therefore Asperger’s Syndrome has never taken a sentient form in my life.I personally am aware of it occasionally but it generally tends to sink to the bottom of my mind, only to be dredged up when I need to become aware of it again…..

When I found out I had and Asperger’s Sydrome Disorder’by Nathan Cash Davidson,aged 18

When i found out I had an ASD i was worried because i was related disability to people in wheel chairs.I thought it was a disease. At first I thought it was rare but then i found out that loads of other peoples had similar things…

I think people should be jealous of having Asperger’s Syndrome because you can overcome lots of aspects of it and then you are left with that talent,in my case I can beat box, rap, paint play the guitar, and have a really good imaginations,I caninvent marbles runs and sculpt if I want to,which is almost like a robot and people should be jealous.

I think I need Asperger’s to fit into the community of people who have similar thing like ADHD or ASD.So people who don’t are the odd ones out. When I was at schools it was fairly hard to make new friends I had one friends who I spent a lot of time with he had Asperger’s as well. The teachers at school sometimes had problem with me.I don’t think most of the teachers understood Asperger’s.I aws told off for goggling which used to happen quite frequently.I often giggle in stressful situations.

At my sixth form college it was easier to socialise with people where they weren’t always fighting like at school.I used to talk to a group of girls who were “buff”.Michaelangelo had Asperger’s too,and he was a great monster.I think my ideas are original and have a different angle to them.

I did get picked on school, but mostly in the first few years .Later as they got older people calmed down and I had less problem.By years 10,11,everything was fine.In year 7 and 8 I had constant threats there were 3 people who bet me up.Sometimes I was pushedinto chairs abd someone punched me and poked me with scissors. There was one boy who did the most of the bullying.I aws’nt the only one that got the attention. Most of the other people in my class got bullied at some point.

My secondary school was reopened after years of being closed:I used to go to a weekwnd music school there before it went back to being a high school.I learned the French horn. Then one day I found myself in the same room which was a science lab but I thought it was strange taht now kids were fighting in there instead of playing music………………………
